Well done Steve Gregory and James Staton who completed the Brighton Marathon on Sunday – part of the wider Brighton Marathon weekend which included races for juniors, the 10k event, road marathon and trail marathon. It was a windy day on the coast, so not the day for PBs but the speed with which both completed the race was awesome. Well done James who continues to show the improvement he has made through his dedication and the loops of Kenley aerodrome, coming home in 3 hours 16 minutes and 21 seconds  –  a sub 3 hour marathon is within reach! Well done Sarah O’Neill who finished in a time of 3 hours, 56 minutes and 17 seconds and Steve Gregory, coming back from injury, and finishing in a time of 4 hours, 5 minutes and 10 seconds.

It’s spring marathon season and on the same weekend as Holland Sports runners were finishing 26 miles into Brighton, Holland Sports’ Heidi Quine was finishing her 26 mile adventure around the roads and sights of the French capital. Heidi, who coaches the senior endurance squad at Holland Sports Athletics Club and who runs multiple marathons each year, completed the Paris marathon in 4 hours, 21 minutes and 46 seconds. Marathon tourism has taken Holland Sports athletes to multiple exotic locations recently (Tokyo and Paris), and will take other runners to Boston in a few weeks’ time: exciting stuff!
