A drop in the temperature to around freezing doesn’t stop the training at Holland Sports. Although multiple layers may now be the norm and there is the odd hat being worn, the senior sessions continue through the week. Tuesday and Wednesday night sessions are always well-attended… and we love the vibe and the atmosphere that a busy track brings.

Many thanks to Paul Ramsier, who put together the montage above of Wednesday night’s session. We are joined by Lingfield RC on the first and third Wednesdays of the month – it always makes for a big group and a great night of athletic activity.

Many thanks to Tom Simpson who brought his drone along to take some video footage of the session on Tuesday night (below). There is a certain beauty to watching people moving silently around a track. While others pedal indoors without going anywhere for hour upon hour, and some people go to the gym to pick heavy things up to then put them back down again lots of times, runners get great satisfaction from running round in circles with other runners.

If you fancy coming along to run in circles with us on a weekday evening (we do alternate this with hill repetitions during the winter), please make contact through the website or pop along to the track on a Tuesday or a Wednesday night. If you are familiar with running in a group on the track then come straight along to a Tuesday. If you are uncertain or unsure about running in a group or are worried you might not be able to keep up, try a Wednesday night to begin with.
