We can proudly record a historic day for the many Holland Sports athletics club athletes selected to compete against the best athletes in Surrey/Kent on 10th June.  The ability to compete at  a County Championships indicates exceptional potential and talent. The high number of Personal Best Performances at both Championships show that our athletes used the excitement surrounding these events to give their very best.

To County Champion marks you as ‘the best’ in your County. We are delighted to congratulate Surrey County Champion Junior Girl Ella Danby (26.57) whose discus performance also included setting a new Personal Best. Top athletes like Ella save their best for the big competitions. Our County Silver medallists included  Surrey silver medal winners Grace Nunn (4.74 Long Jump) and Sam Fothergill (12.98 Triple Jump).  At the Kent Schools Championships Isla Murray (Junior Girls 800m 2.21.15 ) & Mia Jessup (Discus 26.31 m) although both a year down  are thought good enough to be considered for Kent to compete in the English Schools Championships.

Pleasingly Holland athletes set Club performance Records making them as ‘the best eve at Holland Sports for their Age group/event. We congratulate U15 Girl Ella Danby (26.57), U17 Sam Fothergill (12.98 Triple Jump) and U15 Isla Murray (2.21.15) new Club Record holders!  Their achievements  remind us that  your present performance level is often not your final destination.
