If you thought the weather on the drive into Sussex would reflect the Holland performance, then you would be wrong, as many runners reached new heights over 10km. The venue for the race was the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit, a former formula circuit in its golden years.
Frontrunners, Jack Woods and Andy Green were both seeded in the top 10 for the race, their standard reflected in the performances they produced. Jack finished in the top 3, there are worse places to be than on the podium, and Andy ran a PB, as he leapfrogged his way up the Holland 10km times leaderboard. Harvey Voller (32:50) and Tom Thornley (34:54) shaved huge chunks of time off their previous personal bests, they enjoyed success here last year and will enjoy success here in the future. James Pickles (35:25) and Sam Long (36:24) charged around the racecourse, their hunger was rewarded with personal bests over a minute.
The versatile Oloff Van Zyl dipped sub-39, he spread his post-race smile through the pit lane. Oscar Voller was on pacing duty; his supporting effort was appreciated. Andy Cornish and Michael Wood ran with pride and passion in the blue and white stripes; they both ran exceptional times.
