A team of juniors, U20 athletes and senior men travelled to Beckenham Park Place on Saturday for the Southern Counties cross-country Championships. The first time that the senior men have put a full-team out for this event, the group worked hard over the undulating 15 km course which really put athletes through their paces. Almost double the length of their normal cross-country races, the team were led home by Jack Kavanagh who came home in third place. Backing him up were Kieran Barnes (32), Sam Burgoyne (66), Ben Hall (95), Luke Davis (127) and Christian Lee (129) who made up the six-man team and came home in 8th place, taking the scalps of some pretty big teams in the process. Completing the squad from Holland Sports were Lyndon Marfell (225), James Ellis (239) and Tom Thornley (263).

Earlier in the day, the Under 20 men had set off around their 8 km course. Well done to Ben Hilson (39), Lucas Abrams (70) and Harrison Casbolt (76) who represented the blue and white of Holland Sports around the parkland course.

The juniors were represented throughout the start of the day in various age groups. Congratulations Ella F (66), Eloise R (95) and Nicky D (162) in the Under 13 girls’ race and Curtis Y (159) in the Under 13 boys’ race. Well done too, to Charlie S (193) in the Under 15 boys’ race who completed the Holland Sports Athletics Club squad.
