A busy weekend of running action kicked off with a series of cross-countries up and down the country. Well done to Holland Sports’ second-claimers, Ben Pearce, Miles Brown and Douglas Aikman who all competed in the British Universities and Colleges (BUCS) cross-country championships around an undulating course in Loughborough. Two races are always run in the BUCS Championships: a long course and a short course event.

Well done to Ben who came 90th in the long course event, with Douglas coming 145th. In the short course event, Miles came home in 79th place.

Elsewhere Ben H. and Alice M. were both involved in the South-East Schools Inter-Counties cross-country Championships, representing Surrey in the Under 18 age-group against some of the top local talent from this area. Both Alice and Ben have recently transitioned to the senior squad at Holland Sports so it is great to see their continued progress as athletes and members of the senior cross-country team at Holland Sports Athletics Club.
