Believe it or not, there is a world record for a Beer Mile (4 lots of 330ml beers and 4 laps of the track in 4 minutes and 27 seconds) and a Beer Mile World Championships held annually (North Americans excel at this discipline) and while no records were broken at the track after the club’s normal Thursday night road run this week, a lot of fun was had as relay teams of two completed this challenge. There was a little bit of dressing up (it is Christmas after all) and some teams were non-alcoholic (some people did need to drive home), but there was a lot of laughter and giggling as twelve Holland Sports athletes completed this unusual running challenge. An all female turn-out this year (read into that what you will) – it was a great way to (almost) finish off 2025 at the Mill Lane track.
