Two Holland Sports athletes decided to see out 2025 with a fast 5k around Battersea Park on New Year’s Eve. Four laps of the track and bandstand awaited the assembled field which again included some of the top runners in the south-east of England. Conditions were still and cool, perfect for running quickly and run quickly people definitely did!

Congratulations to Andy Green who took ten seconds off his previous best to finish in a new PB of 14.40. Andy continues his recent good form that has seen him run well in the cross-challenge at Liverpool and now on the road: good things await in 2026. Well done as well to Holland Sports’ 2nd claimer, Nick Bester, who clocked in another sub-15 5k, finishing in a time of 14.55.
