Three runners and a dog took part in the Sussex Trail Marathon on Saturday 7th March, running up and away westwards from Eastbourne, along the Seven Sisters and around to the beautiful Cuckmere Haven and the quiet village of Alfriston, in between some pretty relentless climbing up and down the South Downs. Conditions were cool and still which made for some good running despite the undulating route.

Well done to Nick Morrison, who came home in third place overall in a time of 3 hours and 42 minutes, Aran Harris, who finished in 5 hours and 27 minutes and Benji (our 4 legged friend) and Emma Proto, who finished fourth female and 1st in the canicross version of the marathon race in a time of 4 hours and 38 minutes. Great running all around in an event that showcases the continued breadth and depth of the senior endurance squad at Holland Sports Athletics Club.
