Members of the Senior Endurance Squad laid on on evening of Sportshall Athletics for the juniors at Holland Sports and their friends on Friday night: and what a success it was. Forty-six children took part in a carousel of activities around the sports hall up at Hazelwood School, activities that included throwing, running and jumping. The evening finished with a series of relay races and then more in the tradition of a Sports Day – a parent relay race!
Well done to all the juniors that took part – from seven years old up to fifteen – and the nineteen volunteers from the senior squad that gave up their time to run this event for local children on a Friday night. Our aim was to share our passion for being active and being with like-minded people – and we think that we achieved that. Well done to all that ran, jumped and threw, organised and led as well as a final well done to all the parents that gamely took part in the final relay race: an amazing night.
We plan to run it the evening again – look out for the next date on our website and on your ‘socials’!
