Mill Lane played host to the second of four races in this season’s Surrey League for those teams in Division 2, 3 and 4 in November. Conditions were thankfully better than the previous fixture on Holland Sports’ home course around the fields to the west of the track and recreation ground, and the dry weather continued on the day of the race. Forty-two local athletes turned out to represent Holland Sports in the men’s race, with a further eighteen women running in their race: a great day out. Burgers, music and a few drinks from the club bar followed the competitive action, rounding off a very successful afternoon. Both men and women’s team are currently on track to be promoted at the end of the season into Surrey League Division 1, one of the strongest and deepest cross-country leagues in the UK.
