Two Holland Sports athletes were in action mid-week in a season-opener at Parliament Hill. Well done Andy Green who clocked 8.50 for the 3000 metres, with second claimer Sam Walker clocking 9.41 over the same distance. 3000 metres is a hard-race to gauge – not quite a sprint but not quite a long-distance race either – and on the track unlike a cross-country where to a certain extent you can recover on the downhills or coast the flatter sections – there is absolutely no-where to hide: when it starts to sting – it’s only going to sting more! Still, we keep coming back and although there were no PBs this evening, both athletes will be back to tackle this distance again later in the season.
