Local ultra runner, Nick Richards, was in Slovenia last week competing in one of the seven races taking place over the UTMB Slovenia weekend. Based in and around the picturesque town of Bled, the different routes offered runners different scenery and different challenge. Never one to turn down a challenge, Nick completed the front-loaded Sky Trail race, covering 55 kilometres of mountain terrain and 3000 metres of climbing, which took runners up at the start and then kept them high as they ran along mountain ridges and over mountain passes. Well done Nick, who completed the point-to-point course in 9 hours, 50 minutes and 52 seconds, finishing 12th in the V60-64 category.
