It takes a special sort of person to even contemplate running 110 kilometres around the coastline of the Isle of Wight, so it was great to see local lad, Tommy Higgins, attempt this massive undertaking last weekend. The weather was good and there are some great images of Tommy making his way around the chalk cliffs of the island. Well done Tommy, who got to 90 kilometres before a broken headtorch put paid to the final 20 which would have been in the dark. A cracking effort nonetheless, one that highlights the variety and breadth of events that members of Holland Sports Athletics Club are undertaking. Unfinished business? We’ll let Tommy have a week or two to recover and then see whether he signs up to complete the race next year: top running.
