Last Saturday saw the first person in the world to run 1000 parkruns. He decided to do it at Morden parkrun & I (Ant Moore) decided to go there & join in & congratulate him on his achievement. He ran the 2nd parkrun ever back in 2004 and since then has also volunteered over 400 times. I was lucky enough to to grab a photo with him prior to the start.
Of the 14 Holland parkrunners that weekend, we had two first finishers, Luke Davis at East Grinstead in 18.28 and Amy Kearney at Frimley Lodge in 21.45.
Nick Morrison made a welcome return to parkrun with a time of 19.07 on the lumpy, hard course at Squerryes Winery.
At Battersea  impressive times from James Ellis ran 17.32 and Luca Abrams 18.01.
Well done to all 14 runners, parkrun is about turning up, running or walking the course, being supportive and encouraging others and enjoying it socially.
